On April 29, 2023 at 1:08 am Officers responded to a large fight in the 900 blk of E. Simcoe Street. During the fight numerous shots were fired. Once the crowd fled the victim, Raylon Mason, was located with numerous gunshot wounds to his person. Raylon was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

HOMICIDE
March 24, 2023

Lafayette Crime Stoppers needs your help with any information that can identify the suspect wanted in reference to a Homicide.  

 

On February 20, 2023 at 0150 hrs Officers responded to 1111 Mudd Avenue (Circle K) in reference to a shooting incident.

 

Upon Officers arrival they located the victim vehicle in the parking lot of the store. Officers observed the victim, Jatravian Chevelier (B/M, 09-23-2002), in the front passenger seat of the vehicle suffering from several gunshot wounds. Officers learned the actual shooting occurred at the intersection of La. Avenue and E. Simcoe Street in the roadway.

IDENTITY THEFT

THEFT
January 27, 2023

On the evening of Friday, January 20th, 2023, two subjects entered the business of T-Mobile and begin cutting the security retention wires on the display phones.  Once all the phones were obtained, the subjects fled the store on foot.  The total amount for items stolen is believed to be approximately $9,000.  The subjects are described as a heavy-set black male and a tall, skinny white male.

On November 11, 2022 at approximately 1214 hours, a juvenile Hispanic male was located on the roadway in the 700 Block of Malapart Road.  The Hispanic male was found to have been the victim of a homicide.  Video surveillance from cameras nearby captured the suspect communicating with the victim just minutes prior.

ARMED ROBBERY

The pictured suspect exited a dark colored Nissan car and entered the business with a long gun before taking an undisclosed amount of money.

ARMED ROBBERY

On Monday October 3, 2022, at approximately 9:00 PM, the Lafayette Police Dept. responded to an Armed Robbery in Progress at the Circle K convenience store located at 724 Eraste Landry Rd. The suspect entered the store and aggressively approached the cashier with a firearm in his hand. The suspect grabbed the cashier’s arm and pulled her behind the sales counter demanding that she open the cash register. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the register. The suspect then pointed the gun to the back of her head and demanded that she open the safe. The cashier was unable to access the safe so the suspect exited the store and fled north on North Bertrand Dr.

On June 27, 2022 at 1:26 am Officers responded to the 600 block of Hammond Road in reference to a shooting incident. Upon Officers arrival they made contact with the complainant who advised her mother, Leslie Tolliver, the victim had been shot multiple times by unknown suspects while she was asleep in her bed. Officers on scene rendered aid to Leslie, she was later transported to a local hospital, and succumbed to her wounds.

HIT AND RUN FATALITY

The deceased male was identified as a black male, Mr. Christopher Smith.

SHOOTING
August 26, 2022

Lafayette Crime Stoppers needs your help with any information that can identify a suspect.

 

On August 16, 2022 at approximately 2:36 p.m., UL Police responded to a call reporting multiple shots fired at 111 Reinhardt, Cajun Field - 111 Reinhardt. Upon arrival, officers located one individual with a gunshot wound to the leg.  Surveillance video showed the suspect vehicle, a Honda Accord with a temporary dealer plate on the rear window, follow the victim into a parking lot at Cajun Field.

 

Once in the lot, the driver of the Honda fired multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle. The victim exited his vehicle from the passenger side and ran towards Bertrand Drive. The suspect chased the victim and fired several more shots ultimately striking the him.

 

The suspect returned to the Honda Accord and left the area in the direction of Bertrand Drive and Congress. The suspect was described as a black male, 5'9" wearing a black shirt and black pants.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY BY SHOOTING

On June 30, 2022 the victim was traveling north in the 5500 block of Johnston St., near Ridge Rd, when an unknown subject operating a black sedan pulled along side of him and fired one shot. The shot traveled through the victim’s vehicle door and into his leg. Victim indicated the vehicle merged onto Johnston St. behind him from Ambassador Caffery Pkwy. The pictured vehicle was captured from surveillance at Johnston St. at Ambassador Caffery Pkwy and is the vehicle that followed the victim’s vehicle. It appears to be a newer model dark colored sedan.

SIMPLE BURGLARY OF A BUSINESS
June 24, 2022

On June 9th, 2022, at approximately 1:00a.m., multiple suspects broke one of the front windows to the Family Dollar located at 107 Carmel Drive. The subjects then attached a chain to an ATM inside the business, drug it out, placed it in the back of their truck, and fled traveling north on Louisiana Avenue towards I-10. The vehicle is a dark colored extended cab 2003 to 2006 Chevrolet Silverado with a camper top. The camper top appears to have a broken rear window or is missing its rear window.

Monetary Instrument Abuse

Lafayette Crime Stoppers needs your help with any information that can identify the suspect wanted for monetary instrument abuse.

 

On September 15th 2021, video surveillance captured the suspect as he made a purchase at the Dollar General Store in the 2300 block of East Milton Ave.  The suspect made the purchase with a counterfeit $100 bill.  On September 16th video surveillance captured the suspect purchasing fuel at the Super 1 Store in the 1500 block of Bonin Rd.  Again, the suspect utilized a counterfeit $100 bill to make the purchase.  The suspect left the area in a 2012 White Ford F-150 which was later determined to be a stolen vehicle.

April 22, 2022

On April 11th at approximately 10:00pm two suspects were involved in a theft that occurred at a local business in Carencro.  Video surveillance captured the suspects as they exited the store.  The suspects were last seen leaving the area in a grey colored vehicle, possibly a Nissan.

MISSING PERSON

Lafayette Police Department needs your help with locating a missing person.

 

Investigators with Lafayette Police Department is seeking information in the disappearance of Kristy Dominque aka Kristy Gibson. Kristy Dominque was last seen in December 0f 2020, in Lafayette, La.

 

Dominque is described as a white female, 30 years of age, 5'2" in height and weighing 120 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. It is believed that foul play may have occurred.

AGG BURGLARY/ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER

On January 27, 2022, at approximately 11:20 am, an armed burglar accessed an unlocked window and entered an unoccupied home located in the 300 block of Saucier Parkway in the city of Lafayette, La.  The victim returned home where he encountered the armed suspect hiding in a bedroom. 

 

The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim before jumping through a window which resulted in the suspect being injured.

SIMPLE BURGLARY OF A RESIDENCE

On January 19, 2022 at approximately 7:30pm, the suspect forced entry into a residence in the 1500 Block of Carmel Dr. in Lafayette, LA.  The suspect utilized what appears to be a hunting style fixed blade knife to gain entry through the back door of the residence. The suspect stole headphones, an Xbox One gaming console, an Apple iPhone 6s Plus, and two hard drives (4TB and 14TB).

February 11, 2022

The thefts occurred on three different dates:  11/19/21, 12/12/21, & 12/26/21 at various times.  The unknown male suspect entered the Target located at 3225 Louisiana Avenue on the above-mentioned dates, selected a JBL Bluetooth speaker and concealed it.  The suspect then exited the store without paying for the item. The suspect was captured on the store’s video surveillance as he exited the store.

Simple Burglary of a Business

On the early morning hours of 12/27/2021, a male subject accompanied by a female forced entry into the business of Life Storage located at 2207 W. Pinhook Rd. Lafayette, La.   Once inside the location, the suspects proceeded to burglarize multiple storage units.
